This is a second foreign fasteners column of our company interviewed by Metal Industry Newspaper.

We have recapped some of interesting content of this column to all readers as below.

1.       Overview of Hanshin Neji (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

    a.       Business location

     i.      Our Thai branch located in Sriracha city in Chonburi province, It’s take 2 hours from Bangkok (Capital city) by car.

    b.       Number of employees

     i.      Currently we have total 18 employees as 17 Thai staffs with 1 Japanese expat as July, 2024.

    c.       Customers category by countries

     i.      Our customers are 50% Thai local companies, 40% Japanese companies, and another 10% is foreign companies.

    d.       Customer sales category by countries

     i.      Our 70% sales amount came from Japanese companies and another 20% from Thai companies and remaining is from European, American, and Asian companies.

     i.       Now we are aiming for other companies other than Japanese companies.

    e.       Business nature

     i.      As a Japanese fasteners distributor, we are importing fasteners mainly from Japan along with Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries to distribute good quality fasteners to local customer. This business is operating by 100% Thai local people.

                 i.       Even Socket Cap Screw as such a large size of M56x150, we still can deliver immediately.

             f.        Sales concept

                 i.      Selling in small batches with a wide variety of products, with short delivery time that start from a small unit as 1 piece.

ii.      We would like to make customer all over Thailand can purchase screw at any quantity as their desire from anywhere in Thailand.

2.       LMQ project, Low price, Middle Quality

             a.       Why

                i.      Recently, we are getting variety order types such as small quantity but various SKU as well as large quantity lot from only single product. However, product that made by a Japanese manufacturer exporting to Thailand, its cost may not be competitive especially customer who doesn’t need that high quality. Then we start selling imported product originated from China, Taiwan, and etc. To provide more alternatives that will meet customer expectation.

             b.       Problem

                i.      We got report from our customer of NG product found. And this problem continues occurring in following lots as well. Our customer asked us to visit their factory to sort NG products several times, as this problem still remain in almost every lot.

              c.       Thinking

                i.      As we reported this problem to the manufacturer in China and Taiwan, they are almost impossible to check 100% quality. If they checked all of the amount by sorting-machine, this could double the cost. And they found that this is common thing and no need to do anything with it.

ii.      I am very appreciating to Japanese makers who keep delivering good quality product for the whole time.

              d.       Consequence

               i.      We invented on Nut sorting machine to be able check Nylon Nut in-house, to ensure the quality of imported product yet still can keep the competitive price.

3.       Children museum project

            a.       This project is aim for reducing traffic accident by letting children of employees participating in drawing a paint into the campaign design.

              i.      We also got paints from our employees' children and installed them on our delivery truck.

4.       IT system for fasteners business

           a.       We develop system to let our customer purchase screw easily with smartphone by simply scan the QR code at the stock shelves. This increase inventory management performance to both customer and us, showing real-time stock, and prevent stockout. To make them have more time to focus on manufacturing process.

5.       Current concerns

          a.       Now Japan is facing lack of workforce crisis in manufacturing business, young people are tending not to entering manufacturing business as they have difference preference, I am afraid of continuity of product supply in the future.

          b.       As we have a responsibility to keep delivering good quality product to our customer with stability as our mission, even they are an import product. We have to keep the quality of the product to our customer.

          c.       We have to find the system to increase the productivity of our current workforce, reducing working time with better result by implementing technology for manufacturing. We will keep working on this.
